SDE Administrator

DURATION OF ASSIGNMENT: Twelve (12) Months (renewable)

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

    Administer and Tune ESRI's Spatial Data Engine (SDE).

   Develop SDE APIs using JAVA.

   Design and produce maps and other graphic products using ESRI tool set.

   Store and manage raster images into SDE.

   Develop mapping file using Feature Manipulation Engine(FME) for data conversion.

   Develop GIS Data Model using UML.

   Provide technical assistance to user departments in implementing GIS projects

   including training employees in GIS procedures and software.

   Perform Spatial analysis, data management, and interfacing GIS with relational

   databases.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED AND ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in GIS, Remote Sensing, Computer Science, Geography, Information Systems , or related field. Masters degree preferred. The position requires a minimum of ten years   experience in Information Technology, of which at least five years must be specialized in the  analysis and design of GIS applications. A minimum of 3 years experience in SDE administration  and Tuning. Solid understanding of GIS coordinate/projections systems is also required.

 

DESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Experience in FME programming. Understanding of MicroStation file structure. Programming  experience using ArcGIS 8.x or ArcIMS 3.x, ArcPad, Map Objects, and Java Scripts Knowledge  in image processing software such as ER-Mapper or ERDAS.

 

 

GIS Applications Developer

DURATION OF ASSIGNMENT: Twelve (12) Months (renewable)

 

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

Develop and test GIS applications based on the defined user requirements and prepare required  documentation, including both program level and user-level documentation.  These applications  will be developed using ESRI’s suit of products (i.e. ArcObject, ArcIMS, ArcInfo, ArcPad, etc). Design and produce maps and other graphic products using ESRI tool set.  Maintain the  enterprise GIS data model and enforce its standards.

Design and implement data conversion procedures. Provide technical assistance to user  departments in implementing GIS projects including training employees in GIS procedures and  software. Develop internet-based applications and web sites using ArcIMS, software application  development.  Administer and Tune ESRI’s Special Data (SDE). Perform Spatial analysis, data  management, and interfacing GIS with relational databases.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED AND ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Remote Sensing, Computer Science, Geography, Information  Systems, or related field.  Masters degree preferred. The position requires a minimum of ten  years experience in information technology, of which at least five years must be specialized in  the  analysis and design of GIS applications. A minimum of 3 years experience in developing  applications with ESRI’s ArcGIS 8.x or ArcIMS 3.x tool set is a must.  Programming experience  with Java for web based ArcIMS is required and Visual Basic for ArcGIS based applications.

 

DESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge ArcSDE adminstration & Tuning.

Experience with ArcPad application builder, Map Objects, XML, ASP, and Java Scripts.

Knowledge of Satellite and Aerial image processing techniques.

 

 

AM/FM/GIS Developer

DURATION OF ASSIGNMENT: Twelve (12) Months (renewable)

 

Scope of Work

The candidate will be required to develop and test AM/FM/GIS applications based on defined  user  requirements and prepare required documentation, including both program-level and user -level documentation. Candidate will be required to support existing AM/FM/GIS that are based on  Intergraph FRAMME software.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED AND ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineer, or other related  discipline. The position requires a minimum of 10 years experience in Information Technology, of  which at least 4 years must be specialized. Specialized experience includes analysis and design  of AM/FM/GIS applications. General experience includes increasing responsibilities in  assignments of a technical nature. Proven ability to work independently or under only general  direction on complex application problems involving all phases of systems analysis is required.

A minimum of 3 years experience in supporting FRAMME is required.

 

DESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Experience in ESRI products, MicroStation Development Language (MDL), and

Visual Basic is desirable
